Dancing Around Death - A gentle & creative event to explore living & dying well (+ live music & dance)

Dancing Around Death - A gentle & creative event to explore living & dying well (+ live music & dance)

A gentle and creative gathering to reflect on what living & dying well means to you.

What is a good death and what choices can we make for ourselves and our loved ones? We'll be led in discussion exploring thoughts, beliefs and wishes surrounding end-of-life topics.

Drawing on the poem and song cycle, 'What Would Love Do Now?', there will be time to reflect alone and with others about these important questions. Its never too early to notice what is important to us and we hope this session is a gentle and creative way to face these, sometimes difficult, questions and to learn from each other.

Combining time to talk, to listen, to be creative in whatever way suits us, we will share our thoughts, beliefs and wishes about end of life for ourselves and others.

This event is free to attend and there will be complementary tea and cake, as well as short live music and dance performances exploring themes through creative movement and melody.

About Nottingham Companion Voices

Companion Voices sing at the bedside of people who are dying to bring comfort and companionship to those leaving this life, and their loved ones. The group sing gentle world songs and lullabies for people of all faiths and none, at their invitation.

At this event, we will demonstrate by singing 2 or 3 songs and invite you to be comfortable and relaxed, allowing the gentle sounds to go where they will with a few moments of silence after each song. Nottingham Companion Voices are a new free service developing in partnership with the Nottinghamshire Hospice with support from Notts County Council.
